Jeep, an American automobile brand, is a wholly-owned division of the Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (an Italian-American Corporation). Jeep brand has set a landmark in the industry with its range of off-road vehicles and SUVs. It is said to have established the market for luxury SUVs with its release of the Jeep Wagoneer. Since, the company’s inception in 1943, it has gained a reputation in the industry to an extent that the brand name ‘jeep’ (In lowercase) is now used widely to describe vehicles that are considered suitable for rough terrain use. Jeep Australia entered the country’s markets in 2013, under the parent company FCA Australia.
Jeep brand, that is presently owned by FCA US LLC has changed hands multiple times in the past. During the World War Ⅱ, a huge demand for Jeep cars was raised by the government. In order to meet this requirement, various automobile manufacturers like American Bantam, Willys and Ford were authorised to produce jeep cars. However, after the WWⅡ only Willys-Overland continued to produce Jeep-branded vehicles. The company, in 1953, was acquired by Kaiser Motors that later, in 1970, was in turn purchased by American Motors Corporation.
As a part of the AMC, the brand gained great reputation with its newly introduced models and in 1976, it crossed an annual sales of 100,000 Civilian Jeep (CJ) units. A few years late, the brand introduced its first unibody SUV, XJ Cherokee, making a sale of 200,000 units for the first time in history. In 1987, AMC was taken over by Chrysler Corporation. However, Jeep was the only brand (Of other AMC brands) that was continued by Chrysler owing to its worldwide popularity. Recently in the U.S., it was recognised as the best-selling brand of Fiat Chrysler.
Over the years, the brand has been associated with adventure, freedom, passion and authenticity. These are the core values embodied in every Jeep vehicle. ‘Go Anywhere, Do Anything’ – it is not just a slogan but the way of life for every Jeep car owner. Known especially for its off-road capabilities, the design of Jeep cars is based upon providing high durability and strength. The smaller Jeeps have rather narrow frames, short wheelbases, and ample breakover, departure and approach angles that allows them to go places that may be difficult to reach for a full-size-four-wheel drive.
All Jeep cars come backed up with fully-transferable 5 year warranty and a free 24✕7 roadside assistance service. Ensuring high standards of servicing, Jeep also provides the free roadside assistance service for a lifetime (Only if the car continues to get serviced by Jeep even after the 5 year warranty expires).
As a part of the society, the brand also sponsors various events in the country like the World Surf League. Jeep car sales have grown considerably in our country. The current range of Jeep cars include:
